slow out slow in

The principle of making things look more natural and believable in animation is slow in slow out this is the process or technique that we first learnt in the animation and principal class. This is a very important part of animation because it helps with the movement of the subject or object to be more realistic. The movement of humans, animals and even objects falling requires this process to make them look natural on screen.

Obviously the only way to make animation is to draw but one also has to know the whole action from beginning to end that means one must know the initiating pose the middle pose and the final pose. All of these poses have names but the most important one is the middle pose also known as the breakdown or passing position.

After we have established all of those we add the inbetweens  those are poses or frames add in middle of the first pose and the breakdown and in the middle of the breakdown and the last frame.

When adding these you already know where you want your movements to be slow and where you want it to be fast so where you want it to be slow you add more frames making a cluster and where you want it to be fast you make spacing and then we start testing our animation to see if it's moving correctly if it's not we fix it.
